COMMITED TO SERVICE

About Davonna Finley

My commitment to public service began long before I was old enough to cast a ballot. Born and raised in Vacaville, California, I grew up surrounded by a family that believed service was not simply a responsibility, but a way of life. I attended Fairmont Elementary School, in the very heart of the district I now seek to represent as Councilwoman.

My path toward public service began with a desire to serve in uniform. I spent two years on Kadena Air Base in Okinawa Japan, trained at Camp Foster as a Young Marine, and completed eight years of ROTC with the intention of dedicating my life to military service. When my ASVAB scores demonstrated my abilities but my gender stood in the way of that path, I refused to let that setback define my future. Instead, I turned my determination toward political science, developing a deep understanding of and respect for the United States Constitution—an oath I have now pledged three times.

Throughout my life, I have pursued challenges that demanded discipline, courage, and resilience, from gymnastics, martial arts, bodybuilding, cheerleading, and dance to leadership within the motorcycle community in Solano County. Since launching my YouTube platform in 2017, I have built an international community of hundreds of thousands of people, using that platform to educate, engage, and advocate for environmentalism, human rights, and the issues that matter to everyday people.

My professional life has been equally grounded in service. As a former Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District employee and a senior-care professional for 15 years, I now serve as a Memory Care Director, caring for some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

These experiences have taught me that leadership is not about titles—it is about responsibility, listening, and having the courage to act when action is needed. I am running for office because I believe every person deserves the opportunity to build a meaningful, secure, and dignified life, and because government should never forget that its decisions affect real people.

I am not running to become a polished version of what politics expects a candidate to be. I am running as myself: curious enough to keep learning, independent enough to challenge convention, and courageous enough to speak when others remain silent.

I may not fit the traditional political mold—and I don't intend to. I intend to bring something different to public service: authentic representation, fresh energy, independent thinking, and the determination to put people before politics.
